Classic Start-up: First Demo Fail

By Fred, June 13, 2009 2:09 am

We had our first walk through in a public forum this past week. It was to a group of local start ups in the RTP area where half of our team is based and… The site went down. We’ve done the demo for lots of customers and partners, but this was our first time out in front of an audience, albeit small, with a big projection screen and the whole 9 yards.

It turned out the issue was actually due to one of our partners, who happened to be sitting in the audience. It took us another 24 hours to figure everything out.

We were fortunate to have screen shots in a .ppt format to show it off to everyone. The response was very positive. Again, figuring out a better way to address gluten avoidance is a personal issue for us. Applying statistics and database methods just seems like a logical fit. The big question will be to see whether or not everyone else in the GF community agrees and if we can improve people’s lives like we hope we can.

It’s great to have this kind of supportive community to help us out, many thanks to everyone who provided feedback.
